Terms & Policies

We believe in full transparency. Read through our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy below.

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Horizon Movers' services, website, and any related platforms. By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

Key point: By booking or enquiring about our services, you accept these Terms in full. If you disagree with any part, please do not use our services.

2. Services Provided

Horizon Movers provides residential and commercial moving, packing, unpacking, furniture assembly and disassembly, TV mounting, cargo consolidation, and long-distance relocation services across East Africa. The exact scope of services for each engagement is confirmed in writing via your quote or booking confirmation.

3. Booking & Payment

A deposit is required upon booking to secure your moving date. The deposit amount is specified in your quote. The remaining balance is due on or before moving day unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to cancel a booking if payment is not received as scheduled.

  • Accepted payment methods: M-Pesa, bank transfer, and cash (for balances on moving day).
  • Invoices will be provided for all payments upon request.
  • Late payments may incur additional charges as outlined in your agreement.

4. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled moving date will receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations made within 48 hours may forfeit up to 50% of the deposit. No-shows on moving day will forfeit the full deposit.

5. Liability & Insurance

We carry standard moving insurance covering items in our care during transit. Our liability is limited to the declared or replacement value of damaged items, up to the maximum covered under our insurance policy. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, items not packed by our team, or damage caused by force majeure events.

For high-value or fragile items, we recommend declaring them in advance so appropriate coverage can be arranged.

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Ensure access to both the pickup and delivery locations on moving day.
  • Disclose any items that require special handling (hazardous materials, extremely fragile pieces, etc.).
  • Be present or have an authorised representative available at both locations.
  • Ensure parking or loading dock access is available for our vehicles.

7. Prohibited Items

We cannot transport hazardous materials, explosives, firearms, illegal substances, or any items prohibited by Kenyan or East African transport regulations. We reserve the right to refuse any item at our discretion.

8. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, we will first attempt to resolve the matter through direct communication. If no resolution is reached within 14 days, the matter may be escalated to mediation or arbitration under Kenyan law. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.

9. Changes to Terms

Horizon Movers reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
